Founded on the belief that strong communities need strong local journalism, we are rooted in the traditions of trusted reporting while embracing today’s modern, accessible digital landscape. Janelle Morrison
Co-Publisher
Janelle Morrison is a veteran print and multimedia journalist with more than 16 years of experience telling stories that inform, inspire and connect communities. Her career has been defined by a passion for authentic storytelling and a deep appreciation for the people and places that make central Indiana unique. As the former head writer and managing editor for Carmel Monthly and Zionsville Monthly, Janelle led editorial strategy, creative direction and community coverage, helping shape both publications into trusted sources of local insight and storytelling excellence.
Over the years, Janelle has produced hundreds of in-depth features, interviews and multimedia projects highlighting leaders, national and international celebrities, entertainers, artists, entrepreneurs and changemakers. Her work reflects a rare blend of curiosity, empathy and editorial precision—qualities that have earned her a respected voice in regional media.
Beyond her journalism, Janelle is passionate about the evolving landscape of storytelling, bridging traditional print and modern multimedia platforms to connect audiences in meaningful ways. Outside of her professional work, Janelle is an active part of her community, often collaborating with fellow creatives, attending local events or discovering new stories that reflect the heart of Zionsville. A proud 22-year resident of Zionsville, she and her husband, Jason, have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of two adult children.

Steve Russo
Co-Publisher / Chief Financial Officer
Steve Russo is a longtime Zionsville resident, creative professional and community advocate who has dedicated nearly four decades to advancing local and regional communications, marketing and civic engagement.
A graduate of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and Indiana University Bloomington, where he studied independent learning in social psychology and mass media, Russo built a career that blends creative storytelling with a deep sense of community purpose.
In 1988, he founded Russo Communications in Zionsville, serving as president and creative director until 2024. From his downtown office on East Oak Street, Russo led projects for global, national and regional clients as a writer, director and producer while also offering his expertise to numerous local initiatives.
His community service spans decades and organizations. Russo has volunteered his marketing and promotional expertise for the Zionsville Lions Club, Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, Zionsville Merchants Association, Downtown Zionsville Committee, Greater Zionsville Progress Committee, ZPD K9s and others. His leadership helped shape the town’s identity through his role as chair of the Zionsville Branding Committee, which developed the town’s official logo and brand, and as a member of the Zionsville Town Hall Art Task Force.
Among his many recognitions, Russo was honored with the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce Business Professional of the Year Award in 2017 and a Zionsville Lions Club Service Award in 2013.
Beyond Zionsville, he has served on several nonprofit and educational boards, including the Brebeuf Jesuit Alumni Board, St. Mary’s Child Center and Providence Cristo Rey High School.
Russo and his wife of 51 years, Barbara Lynn Russo, have lived in Zionsville since 1987. Barbara, a retired registered nurse, served as a hospital administrator at St. Vincent Hospital and as a nursing professor at Indiana University. Their daughter, Margaret Anne, is group creative director at Chase Design.
Russo brings his professional insight, storytelling experience and lifelong commitment to community to help strengthen local journalism and highlight the people and places that make Zionsville special.
